01

What is CFData?

Browser-based tool for looking up all Sims 4 mods from a CurseForge author. Enter any Project ID or Slug — CFData loads the full mod library with patch status, filenames and download links. Requires a Patreon login.

02

Seed

Any Project ID or Slug from the author you want to explore. CFData finds the author behind that mod and fetches their entire library automatically. One mod is enough — CFData does the rest.

03

Project ID

Every CurseForge project has a unique numeric ID. Find it on any mod page in the right-hand sidebar under About Project. It never changes. Example: 818397

04

Slug

The human-readable part of a mod's URL. Example: simsim-online-store. CFData normalizes spaces and underscores automatically.

05

Detected Patch

The game version label read from the most recently uploaded file. Green = matches the latest patch. Red = outdated. Grey = missing or unrecognized format. CFData determines the latest patch from the CurseForge API.

06

Dependencies

Some mods require other mods to function. CFData displays required dependencies as linked badges directly in the mod row, so you can verify all prerequisites are present and up to date.

07

File ID

Each uploaded file on CurseForge has a unique numeric ID separate from the Project ID. CFData reads it automatically — you never need to look it up manually.

08

Version ID

CurseForge uses numeric IDs for game versions internally. Expert Mode loads the full list automatically — patch names like 1.123.66 resolve to the correct ID without any manual step.

My List is your personal mod watchlist. It lives in your browser (localStorage). Use it to track mods across different authors and quickly check if they are up to date.

01

Bookmarking from Terminal

Click the button in any mod row on the Terminal page. The mod is saved instantly to your local list — no page reload needed. Once added, the button turns into a checkmark.

02

Refresh All

Click Refresh all to reload the latest patch status, filename, author and upload date for every mod in your list directly from CurseForge. Badges update automatically.

03

Export & Import

Export your list as a JSON file to back it up or share it. Import a JSON file to merge mods into your existing list — duplicates are skipped automatically.

04

Sorting

Sort your list by mod name, patch version, or upload date (ascending or descending). Newly added mods always appear at the bottom — sort only reorders the view, not the underlying list.

The Bookmarklet lets you add any mod directly from a CurseForge page to your My List — without opening CFData first. You can install it from the Bookmarklet button on the My List page.

01

Installing

Open My List, click the Bookmarklet button, then drag the + Add to CFData link to your browser's bookmarks bar. Only needs to be done once.

02

Using

Go to any CurseForge mod page and click the bookmarklet. It reads the Project ID from the page and opens My List — the mod is added automatically.

03

Compatibility

Works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. The bookmarklet only reads the Project ID from the current page — it does not store or transmit any other data.

Expert Mode is for mod authors who want to update the patch compatibility label on CurseForge without uploading a new file. The Expert Mode button becomes available only after mods are loaded. An active Patreon subscription is required to use Expert Mode.

01

What it can do

Update the compatible game version label on the most recently uploaded file — no new file upload needed. Optionally clear the existing changelog text.

02

What it cannot do

Patch projects from other authors, replace the actual mod file, or work without a valid API token. It only updates metadata — the file itself is untouched.

03

API Token

Generate your token at legacy.curseforge.com/account/api-tokens. Paste it into the token field or upload a plain .txt file. The token is only used for the patch request and never stored.

04

Patching

Load mods, open Expert Mode (version IDs load automatically), paste your token, set the target patch version and click on any mod row. The patch version field is pre-filled with the latest known patch.

Watch: How patching works

05

API Lag

After patching, the updated version label appears on legacy.curseforge.com within seconds. The main www.curseforge.com page may take a few minutes — this is normal CurseForge behaviour.

06

Clear Changelog

Check Clear changelog on patch to erase the existing changelog text when patching. Useful when the stored changelog contains outdated or incorrect information. Leave unchecked to keep the existing changelog untouched.

401

Unauthorized

Token missing or invalid. Check your CurseForge-Api-Token at legacy.curseforge.com.

403

Forbidden

Token valid, but the project doesn't belong to your account. You can only patch your own mods.

404

Not Found

Wrong Project ID or File ID. Double-check every digit.

500

Server Error

Known CurseForge API behaviour — this error is returned even when the patch succeeds. CFData treats a 500 response as a successful patch. Check legacy.curseforge.com to confirm the version label updated.

Stateless. CFData never stores your token or any request data server-side.
Token stays local. Your token is only sent to CurseForge during a patch request — never logged or cached.
If you suspect misuse, revoke your token immediately at legacy.curseforge.com/account/api-tokens.
My List data is stored only in your browser's localStorage — it never leaves your device.
Bookmarklet. Only reads the Project ID from the current CurseForge page — no other data is collected or transmitted.
No affiliation. CFData is an independent community tool, not endorsed by EA, Maxis, or CurseForge.
